August 2012 BeautyArmy

!!
The most exciting time every month for me! BeautyArmy!

I wasn't that sure picking out stuff for this month because I had to struggle with the fact that all the good samples are taken really fast so I have to wake early.

The main reason why I decided to get a box this month is because of one particular product.

I have faint hyperpigmentation from acne and I want to get rid of them so when I saw the Vita-K Age Spots, I wanted to try it since it has nice reviews.

However, when I received my box the other day, I was pleasantly surprised.

I will also be updating my previous month's post on the box with a review.
Additionally, I will be making a new post next month with the links of the items and my review :)

Without any further ado, the box!!

The regular box.

The first layer! All colorfulness.

And then...all white haha.

All my products! You can already tell I got TWO full-size items. Awesome~

The product that I'm super excited to try out. Despite already knowing I will get a full-size I didn't expect it to be THIS large!

I already tried it. It has this lotion texture to it with no particular smell.
Pretty nice so far. I guess I'll let you guys know if any of my pigmentation faded in a month!

I'm not really at the age where I need this kind of thing but I wanted to get the complete 6 items.

It's okay. It's like this white cream. It's not thick but more on the serum-y side. It has a lemon scent to it.

I chose this because I was like whatever fill up ze box.

NO. Don't choose this. Please.

True to its packaging. The desert botanical and marula oil smells TERRIBLE.
I don't know which but the smell is just unbearable.

It reminds me of the Weleda Almond Soothing Cleansing Lotion I got from BA a while back, only it's a clearish color instead of the white.

I poured onto my Clarisonic and put some that fell out onto my face and boy, that smell was overwhelming!
It does seem like a "delicate" cleaner, like the Weleda "soothing" cleaner. Meaning that I didn't feel like it did any job cleaning my face.

It's apparently anti-aging though.

This, I was really excited at first because it's a full size and it's a treatment for my hair.

It smells musky or like a men's cologne. It's a sticky and thick oil.

Some people say it's awesome at first but it dries out your hair in several months.

I guess I will try this out sparingly.

The back!

Last month, I got a cream from the same company. I got the emulsion cream for eye and lips.
This is a day cream.

I haven't tried this on my face yet but I swatched it on my hand. It..smells kind of like toothpaste.
It's not too thick or too thin but it does have a texture on the thicker side. It's also white :)

Joann Haul

I know I've been going pretty insane when it comes to Joann but I just love that store! Especially when they have a coupon commotion week! I bought these a while ago but I didn't want to do too many consecutive Joann hauls. It would seem boring. I like alternating between clothes and beauty and misc :)

Not much this time. Just 2 large pieces of foam for my purse making, 7 pieces of felt because they were on sale, 1 strand of pearls, and 2 bunches of roses.

I saw these when I was walking into the store. They were on sale!! They were 89 cents each.

These were the prettiest to me. I was caught between pink ones, white ones, or these. I was going to get all but I didn't want to spend too much so I ended up just getting this one.

I will have a DIY post on how I did my bracelet, necklace, headband!

Sneak peek of the result.

Sorry for the awkward face block again. Hahaha

Target Haul (One of many)

It's almost time for school so I bought some stuff from Target. I was originally going to go to Office Depot for supplies but since my mother wanted to go to Target, I ended up buying most things from there.

It was only after I paid for everything that I realize that nearly everything I bought is pink.

Random knee high socks. I always wanted a pair so I decided to get one in gray since it seems like it would match with more outfits.

One size only haha. I think they were like 2.50$

See?! Mostly pink. I guess the notebook is mostly purple but still... haha

This is the most gorgeous agenda I have ever seen. I usually get the free ones from school but this year, I decided to get my one. This is super sturdy and looks super pretty.

Nicely organized by months.

Plenty of space to write assignments.

I couldn't resist. I was debating between this notebook and the "Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake" but ended up getting this one because it is cuter.

I found out last year that the best way for me to keep my backpack light and everything organized is not to have a binder but one of these sturdy binders. My other one lasted me the entire school year but I wanted to get a new one because the other one is a bit dirty and I misplaced it (Okay, fine I lost it somewhere in my room). I opted for the plastic sturdy one because the paper ones would never last.

Last year, I used my binder to shield me from the rain, spilled drinks on it, and someone SNEEZED on it (making me sanitize it).

Baby Lips! FINALLY. I know I'm late on the blogosphere but I always wanted to try it. Ulta never has it in stock. I wanted Peach Kiss and Pink Punch but they only had Pink Punch so I got this first. People have said that peach kiss gives you a natural color while pink punch gives you a pink color.

I got the Peach Kiss in another Target so that would be a different haul!

The back. Will it live up to the hype?

Baby lips with some of the hair bows I've made.

In real life, it is SUPER NEON PINK. I was pretty surprised but it didn't seem to alarm anyone else. One layer, gives you a subtle pink color but if you swipe it several more times across your lips, it gives you this bright, bright pink look. I don't really like the bright pink look so I just usually do one swipe. I don't like this though because I usually like to put on lip balm or lip gloss repeatedly. Bad habit, I know :(

This does hydrate my lips slightly but not completely. I guess I have to use it continuously because it says the results were from 4 weeks of using it.

MAC Purchase (Select Cover Up)

I have been in search for the perfect concealer for a while now. I have purchase many, many concealers from Stila to Benefit to ELF. Strangely enough, the only concealer that has ever worked for me was from ELF. It was one of those face books. But I have finished it. The pot is completely empty. It was perfect. Creamy and matched me 100%. Alas, it is discontinued. I bought another one but they changed all the shades and now they don't even sell it.

Long story short, I can NEVER find the perfect concealer. Mostly due to my skin tone. Since I live in California, I'm constantly exposed to the sun. Hence, my super tan skin! Despite buying the medium or the darkest shade of concealer, it is still too light on me.

Finally a week ago, I did intense research and narrowed my search to the Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer Stick and the MAC Select Cover Up.

I went to MAC first and because I didn't know my shade, I had one of the associates match me. After trying like 4-5 concealers, I ended up getting the select cover up. I tried the other concealer that looked like a lip gloss because it was supposed to be more hydrating.

Pictures, links, and how I apply it below!

Select Cover Up

I'm dark! Haha. Seems like most people are NW20.

This little tube should last a while!

I never knew MAC products were made in Canada. Some one told me they and Chanel products were all made in China.

Because this formula is a bit sticky and heavy when you apply it, I find that dabbing it works best. The associate used a brush that looks like the eye pencil brush from Sigma but not sure what it would be in MAC. I tried to lightly dab some but I didn't get much coverage. I end up getting a LOT more and dabbing it evenly then setting it with a lighter powder since it appears WAY too dark for me at first. I don't know if it neutralizes or something but it blends into my skin like 5-10 minutes later. Haha. Hopefully this helps!

The associate gave me a sample of their Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Eye Cream because I don't have an eye cream and my eye area is a bit dry. This has a 4.6 on Makeup Alley so I'm impressed.

I'm supposed to use it in the morning and before I go to sleep.

It smells lovely. It feels really nice when I put it on. Not sure if it does anything though. My eye area is a BIT more hydrated nothing miraculous though. Full size is 35$ for 15 mL.

Hair Clips (eBay)

I recently got my clips from eBay! I have been making a LOT of hair bows with fabrics and ribbons!

Now I can wear all of them ♥

The bigger bag is SUPPOSED to have 100 but the seller messed up :(

I got 100 for 8$

The smaller bag is 20 alligator clips. These have teeth while the other bag doesn't.
Alligator clips are also square :)

I believe 2ish $

See the difference!

H&M Haul (Early summer sale)

I have been putting this haul post for a while and I'm not sure why! H&M had a really, really awesome sale in the beginning of summer and I went to the H&M in Pasadena. I never go to my local one because I don't like shopping in it because it feels cramped. The one in Pasadena is kind of laid out. Women items on the first floor with nice open spaces. Men on the second tiny level.

The sale items were placed extremely close to the entrance and I really like how H&M does that. Stores like Abercrombie and Fitch always puts the sale items in the back in hopes of attracting you to the full priced items in the front.

I ended up getting 1 shirt, 1 top, 2 blazers in the same style in two colors, and a black mini skirt (not pictured because it disappeared o_0).

I ended up exchanging the black skirt for a dress. I'll post the dress along with my mini Americana haul in the near future!

I really like the print but I don't really like white. Sometimes, white makes you look fat but this isn't too bad.

I actually really, REALLY liked the dark grey one with the gold print but I didn't like the phrase as much. Seeing how I don't even remember what was written on the shirt, you can see why I didn't get it LOL

7 dollars. I really like the cut. I guess this is like a fancy shirt haha

I don't have a lot of pink in my wardrobe either. I do but not as much as I do as other colors.

This is really cute. Probably really nice with jeans for a polished casual look and a skirt for a romantic, softer look.

12 dollars.

I was so happy when I found this blazer. I ended up getting the camel colored one too.
There was a sale blazer rack and most were not in my size. So imagine how excited I was when I found them one size up from my regular size. I think blazers, if sized in numbers, should be sized one up because you're MOST LIKELY to wear something underneath (I hope so LOL), and you don't want to feel restricted in your movements.

I only had one blazer but it was a spur of the moment purchase I made because I had a presentation. I got it off eBay and while the design was gorgeous, the quality was super bad! Good thing I got that blazer for 12$ haha. So these two blazers are a really exciting purchase for me!

20$ Super cheap for a good quality blazer!

Sailor buttons! Or at least that's what I'm reminded of. There are 3 buttons on the sleeve. They are the tinier version of the main buttons in the front as you can see from the picture!

Camel version.

It's so pretty :)

Really nice pockets too. They're nice and deep and the perfect size!

Burlington haul

Now, I don't usually go to Burlington but it is the summer and I get bored sometimes! Surprisingly, there are SOME stuff that suits me.

Most of their stuff is pretty cheap. I ended up getting some items.

This is one of my most favorite tops now!

It has a crocheted back and crocheted hem. The front and bottom back is this dusty pink sheer tank top.

It's perfect with a grey tank top underneath.

12-13 dollars.

I got a black tank top because I don't have one. While this is like 3-4 dollars, I rather buy the Abercrombie and Fitch ones. This one's quality isn't that great and there's not much stretch to it.

The A&F tank tops haven't failed me yet!

I wanted a pair of running shorts for a while but I was never sure where to get them besides Sports Chalet or something hahah.

These are like 10 dollars I think. Sooo cheap for Nike shorts!

Since it's summer, a bright colored shorts would be a perfect addition to a summer wardrobe!

They're super comfortable. The sizing is really strange though so I think they might be for little girls or like juniors because I had to size up considerably. I usually wear a size 3 pants or occasionally a 5. I had to size up to like a 10 for these shorts!

12 dollars I think! Not too bad :)

I washed them several times already and the color has not faded. Good stuff here.
