May 2012 Gossip Girl BirchBox

I was really excited when I signed up for BirchBox just in time for a Gossip Girl themed box but I was really disappointed. Pictures and comments below :)

The GG themed card :)

What I received in my box

First glimpse of some of the stuff

First item: A twistband

Pretty useful and actually looks pretty good when I wear it. I lost it already though.
The color isn't so bad but Blair would never wear something like this!

I don't even have a beauty blender so I'm going to use this on my brushes. I'm not really happy getting this because I already have a Bare Escentuals Brush shampoo.

Not sure how this is GG related.

The wrapped up portion :)

An empty Dr Jart+ BB cream

I contacted BirchBox and a few weeks later, I received 2 Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse BB cream in a bubble mailer. Kudos to them for fixing this problem!

A nail polish. I never heard of this brand until I received it.

It goes on pretty well and like most glitter polishes, it was nearly impossible to remove.

This doesn't seem very GG related either.

I wonder what a "disco nap" is hahaha.

A perfume sample. I wasn't too pleased but it smells wonderful.

I will definitely won't re-purchase this because the full size is extremely pricey.

Even though it's a perfume sample, I can see how this is GG related :)

The inside provides a really nice description and the ingredients.

A random notecard that I won't be using.

It's kind of cute I suppose.

The back.

Envelope for notecard.

A card promoting Gossip Girl.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream Review and Pictures

I finally finished work and am pretty recovered from a recent surgery so posts will continue to be published !

So, I've been using this BB cream for a while now and this Missha BB cream is the first BB cream I have ever tried.

Compared to foundation, it is much better because I don't have to wait for my sunscreen to dry before putting foundation. By the time I'm done with my powder, my face seems cakey.

I went on Amazon to look at it but it seems like sellers have been selling counterfeits. Skin care products should be one of the last things you should risk buying a counterfeit. You might break out or develop a rash or something worse.

I went on the Missha USA website. They had a promotion for first time customers where they receive a free Missha Perfect Cover BB cream #23 with their first purchase. I was not sure which shade to get it in but because my mother was interested in the BB cream and is fairer than me, I decided to get the shade #27 Honey Beige and let her have the #23 Natural Beige.

I received it a week later. In the close up of the boxes, the boxes are tilted because the box surface is super reflective~

It came in a bubble mailer, which surprised me because I assumed the boxes would be crushed.

But it was wrapped in bubble wrap :)

The boxes, surprisingly not crushed.

The pump. It took quite a bit of work to get the product out.

The cream

Overall, I like it but it can be drying for my skin sometimes. I have dry skin depending on the weather and combination the rest of the time.

The first few times I used it, I dotted my face, meaning 2 dots on forehead, one on each cheek, one between my eyes, one on my nose, one under my nose and one on my chin. After a few times, I just started to spread the cream from my nose area outwards. It worked much better.

As for coverage, it provides medium coverage. It does minimize redness and helps unevennness but you can still see some imperfections.

This is perfect when I don't feel like putting on full makeup and just want to look fresh and decent looking for the day :)

I give it a 8.5 out of 10 stars.

If you're interested in buying it, here's the link. It's currently 30% off.
