Chosen for.. the Influenster Cosmo Voxbox!

After filling out their pre-survey, getting a bunch of badges, and reviewing the heck out of everything...I was chosen for the Influenster Cosmo Voxbox 2012 :) They had one last year and it had different things like Proactiv, body wash, etc. No one really knows how frequent they ship out but if you qualify, you get a box :)

I got this email 6 days ago:

We just can't keep it a secret any longer. You've been officially selected to receive the Cosmo VoxBox! Thanks so much for filling out our pre-survey. You were a perfect fit!

So, what's next? Well, your box will be on its way tomorrow to the address you provided during the pre-survey. Once you get your box, head to your Infuenster profile, find "Cosmo VoxBox" in the Fun File, and then click through to the badge page to check-in your box and start testing. We'll be in touch shortly with details, Brand Challenges, and more!

Bet you're feeling pretty excited right now, huh? Don't keep that feeling to yourself! We've got a record number of boxes going out in the next month, and we need you to spread the word. If you've still got invites, share them with your most influential friends and let them in on the secret to your trend-setting prowess.

In the meantime, we're anxiously awaiting your Cosmo VoxBox reviews!

Have a good one!

And then today, I got the confirmation email with the tracking number! Super excited. I believe others have already gotten their boxes. I'm not sure what's inside :)  I'm scared my temptation will get the best of me haha.

Etsy and Big Cartel Shop

I know this is mostly a haul + subscription blog but I did start this blog with the thought of promoting my shops once in a while! :)

As of today, I sold my 5th item in a week! This is a great feat for me because I hardly have time to promote my shop anymore and work on more items for it :(

I am planning to try to make more stuff, maybe with the new sewing machine I got! ;D

YAY!

November and December 2012 BeautyArmy Preview

I have received my November BeautyArmy kit already and need to take pictures. For now, I'll put up a preview. I will post up October and November at the same time if I can!

For December, I JUST picked today. I had the choice between a nail kit and samples but honestly, my nails doesn't break that easily. Therefore, I decided to just get samples once again!

I'm actually pretty excited for this month. I have the Paris Amour Lotion and it smells great. I don't usually like to get the body washes but I thought why not since the fragrance smells lovely.

I've been needing a hairspray so I decided to try this one out. It's volumizing too! If it's good, I'll probably purchase it. I have been on a look out for a hairspray that doesn't turn my curls crunchy. Hopefully this one works great!

Because of how my body works, I get hyperpigmentation. That means scars, acne, etc.
I had gotten the Vita-K Solutions cream but I don't know. After using it for a really long time, I'm not quite sure it works. I am hoping this one works. I really hate my skin discoloration.

Now, I have several tubes of the 3 Minute Miracle and it works really well. I decided to get this so my hair doesn't get used to the 3 Minute Miracle...if that makes sense. I don't know. Because I use the Aussie deep conditioner like, every time I wash my hair (every other day) I get this feeling that it won't work one day because I use it so often. So maybe this little mask can change up my routine!

I have gotten the brown color last month but still haven't tried it yet. I decided to get this because it's makeup and it's a heck lot better than getting a tea bag...
The bottle is WAY smaller than you'd expect from the picture. Like SUPER small. Mind you, it IS 0.03 oz!

I...am still not too sure what this is but collagen is good for your skin.. so why not. It also says "hydrator" so maybe it'd be good for my dry skin :)

eBay Ice Cream iPhone cases and Pearls

I saw on eBay this really cute case but then when I received it, it was more of a dark teal/green color which looks super weird. It was supposed to be a really cute baby blue color.

Sorry for the blurry photo but you can see the front is like ice cream melting down over the screen.

I got these pearls for decoden! I will show you guys the results in a post later on :) It's super cute!

Anyway I got the pink one instead because it looked cuter and you can't go wrong with pink.

Because the decoden items are importing from Japan, I didn't get to use the pearls yet.

Then seeing how the case matches with the pearls, I got tempted and then I sort of bling-pearled it.

I think it's cute! It adds an extra oompf to the case! I love having OOAK cases!

eBay Baby Blue suede cords

I have seen some pretty bracelets on Etsy and Tumblr made by suede cords so I decided to look around on eBay for some. There were an overwhelming amount of colors to choose from! I finally decided on light blue. I ended up making a wrap bracelet. I like to wear it with my white fossil watch and Jewelmint bow bracelet.

I got so many!

(Actually just 10 one meters LOL)

1.04$

I braided it and knotted it in some areas.

Strangely enough, the clasp and hook is even more expensive than all of the cords together.
I believe it was either 2$ at Jo-Anns or my local craft/bead store. It's always more worth it if you buy in bulk though!
I have bought clasp/hooks from Jo-Ann and eBay before though. There are so many designs to choose from!

I really want to try brown suede next! Matches everything :)

Easy and fun DIY to do!

Influenster

I've been trying to get an Influenster box for like a few months now but apparently I don't have enough "influence" to get into a program :( BUT. They're having a new program called "The Influenster Relaunch" and hopefully I get in!

Essentially, Influenster sends you a box of stuff and you get to review it! It's pretty much like my subscription boxes :) But their boxes can include home items to hair products and more!

I'm pretty specific in my reviews so I'll see how this goes!

New Layout

All done! I hope you enjoy the new layout as much as I do!

It took forever to edit and fix the kinks out ♥

(I actually still need to edit the font for the blog title but for some reason it just won't work)

But.. for now, I am satisfied!

September 2012 BeautyArmy + Reviews

The great thing about posting late boxes is that I have tried out most of the items in it haha.

First uncovering!

When I uncovered the tissue paper.

All of it!

I got eye gels because I never buy anything for my eyes. All of the eye masks I have used before were little gifts from pinkyparadise LOL

This looks promising. I haven't used it yet but I'm so tired these days from work and moving I just might try them out.

They are also made in Korea. This fact makes me a lot more excited to try these out.

This is finishing powder I believe. I hope so because I've been using it as LOL

Anyhoo. I have been using this since September and I still have a buttload left.

This isn't even the full-size!

This is really good. I usually just use the concealing powder from ELF which honestly doesn't really conceal anything. It just buffs away the shiny/sticky parts on my t-zone after I put sunscreen or BB cream on,.

This does the same thing. It give you a matte look on the places you swipe it on.

If you put too much it looks like you have clogged pores though, especially on your nose area.

I got this because I was in love with the conditioner. It's not really about how well it washes or conditions my hair. I am just extremely in love with the fragrance of the shampoo.

I usually use my Tresemme or Pantene shampoo and conditioner and then dab a bit of the conditioner or shampoo on top of my head and wash it off. It gives me the fragrance in my hair for like 2 days.

LOVE THIS. Too bad the full-size is so expensive haha.

I haven't gotten around trying this yet because my nails are actually pretty strong already.

..Or at least they haven't gotten around chipping and breaking off yet.

The back.

I believe this is the full size. I don't know. I might sell this or give it to a friend.

It's been sitting in my nail cabinet for a while now.

I was forced to get this because my window was closing and I didn't want anything else past the first four items I posted up there already. I have so many primers it's not even funny.

I really don't see the difference in the primers I have tried out before. They just all feel weird and silky.

I use them whenever I put on makeup now because there's no point in wasting them so I haven't gotten to this yet. I'm still using the Youngblood one I got from another BA box. I also have a mineral primer from ELF which I probably should throw away....

They honestly all feel the same to me. I am pretty sure if someone gave me the Smashbox primer and the ELF primer, I would not be able to tell the difference LOL

I feel kind of iffy about these kinds of packaging because I have gotten this kind from other BA samples and it's really hard to tell how much you have left. Sometimes I accidentally squeeze out more than I want and it just hangs on the packaging and hardens. It's really gross so when I moved, I threw all of the opened ones out.

I honestly didn't want any Bath and Body Works items because I have so much and usually these sample ones aren't really that worth while. I am glad I got the Sweet Pea one because it actually smelled really good. My sister had a sweet pea hand soap that smelled disgusting for some reason and the body soap smelled sweet and pretty.

I normally love B&BW's japanese cherry blossom so I'm pretty neutral about this. I already have the largest size they have for the lotion for this scent so meh. It's great but it's just that I didn't really need a body soap when I have the smelly lotion already :( The size is pretty decent though so if you never tried this before, you should totally pick it!

Happy 100th Post: October Nails (Breast Cancer and Random)

HAPPY 100TH POST ♥
---------------------------------

I really wanted to do something for breast cancer month that showed my support because I know someone close to me that experienced it. I didn't know how I could express that daily so I decided to do it through my nails! Random fact but my Etsy icon is actually a breast cancer rubber duckie that I got from donating haha.

I had this for the first week but when I got my bow nail stickers on the bottom, I re-did my nails!

I got this for less than a dollar I believe on eBay.

Super cute!

I've also been dying to use my MyGlam nail sticker that I received a really long time ago so I decided this was the perfect chance.

Thumb: I used silver rhinestones to form a ribbon. I know only a pink ribbon supports breast cancer but the background color, I mixed up to a pale shade of pink.
Index: A Revlon color from my previous haul with the bow sticker I bought off eBay
Middle: In a near future haul, I'll show you guys the pearls and some of the rhinestones I used in this finger. But essentially, I stuck random white and various shades of pink onto this finger.
Ring: The MyGlam heart nail sticker. This is actually just half of one. They were super long I decided to go with short nails so half of ONE nail sticker, fit perfectly.
Pinky: Same Revlon nail polish with light pink rhinestones that formed a breast cancer ribbon ♥

This was pretty easy and I hope I've inspired your nails for next October!

How I fixed/disguised the hole in my Toms

I was super devastated when my grey Toms acquired a huge hole in the toe area. I really want to get new ones but at the same time I only had these for 1-2 years. Honestly though, the leather sole has cracked and died already but I continued to wear them. I mean, they're not that noticeable after walking in them for a while but they are still pretty bad. They are soooo comfortable but the quality doesn't last very long :(

Anyway, I knew I can't keep wearing my Toms with a hole in it so at first, I wanted to stud it. I tried to look for some cool patterns and designs online but found out that the hole was so big I couldn't even stud it.

I first sewed the hole close.

BUT. LOOK AT THIS. This is sooo noticeable.

It looks so bad and strange.

THEREFORE.

Ta-da!

I painted over it! I painted cherry blossoms (sakura) all over it.

I did this for both shoes because it'd be weird if only one shoe had the flowers!

See! You can barely see the fixed hole anymore :) The thing that worries me is that I didn't bother buying fabric paint. I just found some acrylic paint and used that. I hope it doesn't crack or run or smudge haha.

If you have a hole in your Toms and you're decent at painting, you should give this a go. You could also be smarter than me and get fabric paint just to be sure. This was a really fun project. I planned it out on a white piece of paper and then just followed it as I painted on the Toms.

I didn't even wait a day to wear it because it dried so fast. I've gotten plenty of compliments on it so you should try it out if you dare x) It took several hours though!

Why spend like..90$+ to have someone paint it for you when you can do it yourself?!

HAVE FUN ♥

Forever 21 Varsity Jacket

I know varsity jackets have been around for a while now. They were sort of in like...a while ago haha. I don't know why but for the longest time I've always wanted one. They just look really nice, especially on a girl. Weird because I don't even play sports anymore!

When a girl wears a varsity jacket, it just seems like a fashion statement but when a guy wears one, they usually look really strange because I didn't think any athlete wears their varsity jacket after they graduate...

ANYWAY.

I have been on the look out for the perfect one for months. While randomly walking around a Forever 21, I found the perfect one.

I really like wearing grey. Grey tops, grey dresses, grey accessories, so forth.

There's just a perfect balance in the color grey. I used to love black but it really seemed like I wanted to be goth. So yay grey!

It's super comfy and it keeps me decently warm.

The H is a terry cloth material. I just wish I could have chosen the letter.

22$ something haha

When I went, there were like several colors. I thought this was so perfect but then after wearing this for a week or so, everyone started popping up with the same jacket but in a different color.

So then, I sort of stopped wearing this and got another Forever 21 jacket. I'll show you guys it in a post soon! I am totally in love with it. I haven't seen anyone with it yet so whoop whoop! :)

H&M Sweaters (Sweater Weather♥)

Several months ago, I started to go on a sweater hunt because California sweater weather begins around the end of October. At H&M, I found some sweaters on sale so I decided to get some basic ones.

This first one is just this light tan color. It's pretty basic. There's no pockets or details or anything.
It's a bit stiff though. It's not that comfy :(

10$

I really love this one. It's super soft and warm. It also has a nice little pocket on the left side.
You can put a phone in there but it sort of sags.

This wasn't on sale if I remember correctly but it was super cheap. Under 15$ ;)

Yay for sweater weather!!!

New Stuff in Etsy Store!

I recently just renewed everything in my store.

Additionally, I'm not sure but I recently sold one of the clutches that I've been making to a friend for 10$. I might start selling them in my store.

I have made more since these pictures too. I guess I'll think about it :)

Urban Outfitters Online Haul

A long while ago, Urban Outfitters had a free shipping sale. Fruitless, because I ended up getting so much stuff it would've been free shipping anyway.

Cute wing design on the sides :)

4.99$

I love this top so much. The colors and the design is just perfect but the fabric wasn't.

It was super thin and see-through :( I had to return it.

It's so thin you can see the labels in the inside and see through to the other side even though this wasn't placed against the sun.

Cute rainbow design.

I really like the cutout in the back. It's not your usual shape.

14.99

The design is SOOO pretty and colorful.

It was too big for me though unless I drape it a certain way, it looks strange.

The hearts look better than the blurry pixels right? :D Looks extremely childish though haah.

I was really close to getting this because it was relatively flattering but decided it wasn't worth 14.99

My most favorite dress ever.

It looks boxy but when on, it fits perfectly. Not form fitting and not huge.

It's flowy and soft. People complain the head hole is too small, but it goes over mine easily. Either they have a huge head or I have a tiny one. I don't know but buy away! This dress garnered a bunch of compliments at the mall!

The cut in the front hits right above my cleavage.

The back cut is high enough you can wear a regular bra.

14.99

Super cute. It's mint color with a tiger/lion/cheetah/whateveritis design for the font.

This isn't a crop top because I sized up. It could be though.

The back is see though mesh.

4.99

This had a lot of good reviews. It was okay, nothing special. I thought it would've been prettier.

The bottom is pretty though.

I got it in white too.

It's quite pretty but nothing special. The sash is ugly.

I ended up returning both because they weren't all that.

19.99
